GB Global Inspires Future Logistics Talent

GB Global attends MoD Outreach Day

More than 180 students from across Hull and East Yorkshire explored careers in logistics and supply chain at the MOD Logistics Outreach Day near Beverley on 3 July 2026. The MOD Logistics Outreach Day brought together young people from across the region to discover the innovation, technology and career opportunities driving the logistics sector.

Generation Logistics and the MOD organised the event and welcomed students from 10 local schools. Participating schools included St Mary’s College, Hull Trinity House Academy, Bridlington School, and Driffield School and Sixth Form. The day challenged misconceptions about logistics and highlighted the innovation shaping the sector.

Interactive Learning Experiences

Colleagues from Uniserve, Seafast and the Supply Chain Academy represented GB Global at the event. They worked closely with the MOD to deliver a range of hands-on activities.

Students tackled a remote-controlled forklift challenge and tested their knowledge in logistics quizzes. They also toured LNG trucks, used driving simulators and took part in a Scalextric challenge. Along the way, they learned about real-world supply chain operations, sustainable transport solutions and emerging technologies.

One of the day’s standout moments came when students climbed into the cab of an LNG truck and sounded the horn. The experience created plenty of excitement and left a lasting impression.

Real Logistics Career Stories

Throughout the day, colleagues who completed the Supply Chain Academy’s Level 3 Diploma and Level 6 Degree Apprenticeship programmes shared their career journeys. They gave students valuable insight into opportunities across transport, warehousing, technology and supply chain management. They also demonstrated how apprenticeships can lead to rewarding long-term careers within the sector.

Dave Gladen, Head of Marketing at GB Global, said: “Logistics is one of the most dynamic and innovative industries in the UK, yet many young people are unaware of the breadth of opportunities available. Events like this help bring the sector to life, showcasing the technology, skills and career pathways that make logistics such an exciting place to build a future. It was fantastic to see so much enthusiasm and engagement from the students throughout the day.”

Inspiring Future Talent

Through initiatives such as the MOD Logistics Outreach Day, GB Global continues to inspire the next generation of talent. The company also helps raise awareness of the wide range of careers available across the logistics and supply chain sector.
